Fragile Heart - the romantic world of Alice Eden

With loyal fans such as Sienna Miller, the jewellery designs of Alice Eden are where the stylish crowd have been going for understated elegance for the past four years.

Alice’s new collection, Fragile Heart, displays her signature attention to detail with carved black onyx and gold hearts on the finest gold chains.

These stunning designs look beautiful worn as everday pieces, dangling casually on the wrist or around the neck. Each piece is completely hand made by Alice in her Brighton stuido with an attention to detail that makes her jewellery a joy to wear. From her choice of materials to the way she finishes each necklace and bracelet off with a long extended chain that seductively dangles down the spine or the wrist.

A perfect collection of jewellery if you are lookingto treat yourself to a new piece or perhaps giving hints to a loved one?

Alice's collection is in Jewellery Room 2 - please scroll along to her cabinet.

(Just a note: if you would like an Alice Eden piece to arrive before the 14th Feburay please order before Monday as they are made to order within ten days)

Tea for Two - new jewellery collection

The popularity of Bethan Lloyd Worthington's miniature ceramic jewellery shows no sign of slowing down. After two sell out collections she's back with these little treasures for the new year.

Many of you will be familiar with her work and some of our early visitors will remember that in 2008 we curated both an online exhibition and a pop-up show of Bethan's larger one-off pieces from vases, plates to bowls and jugs. Her work pleases on many levels from her use of vivid colours, glazes and shapes to her animated illustrations of little houses, birds and boats!
This collection features a series of bracelets and her first necklaces. You can opt for the single Teapot Pendent or the charm necklace Tea for Two which features a teapot, jug and two tea cups on vintage art deco brass chain.

Bethan's collection can be seen in Jewellery Room 1 (please scroll along to the end of the room to see Bethan's collection)

A New Window Display for the New Year

We're back after two wonderful weeks of snowy walks and fireside drinks at our local inn. January is our favourite time in the shop, it's when we start to plan new exhibitions and collections.

Why not have a look at our new window display which features Belynda Sharples' wallpapers and the wonderful hand made ceramics by Katrin Moye. We chose these for the first window of the year because they speak to us of optimism and fun and are reminiscent of that golden era of design; the 1950's.

Also check out our NEW IN page which features a selection of our favourite necklaces as it looks like 2010 is going to be the year of the Necklace.

Things to look out for in the next couple of months include the launch of our new Cushion Department which will be stuffed to the rafters with the most gorgeous handmade creations, a new exhibition called The Menagerie: designs inspired by the natural world, a fantastic collection of one-off hats by New York knitwear designer Melissa Halvorson which are based on historical bonnets at the Victoria & Albert Museum, plus much, much more...

Happy New Year!
